This is the inside cover page of a main lesson book from a Fables block. We
drew on Aesop's Fables as a guide to the story content, then drawings were done with accompanying morals.

This is a page from a Fables block. On the first day, a fable
was told. In this case, it was The Mouse and the Lion. The next day, the fable was recalled (in the
child's own words), with the moral of the fable arising from the child - not the adult. Finally, a
picture was drawn, along with the stated moral.

This is another page from the same Fables block. In this case, we
told the story of The Fox and the Well. Again, a picture was drawn into a main lesson book as an artistic
expression of this story.
During this block, we also:
- told nature stories
- visited the Thornton Burgess museum
- took lots of nature walks
